Burlington's Freeman Station will be closed until further notice during discussions with the City of Burlington re: dissolving the Friends of Freeman Station Corporation and planning with Museums of Burlington, for a viable and sustainable future.

Whinstones

In the 1800s, the sailing ships that brought immigrants from Europe to Canada required ballast to stablize them. The whinstones used for this purpose were left behind on the return voyages. The Grand Trunk Railway (1852–1923) used the whinstones for the walls when when constructing their stations, as your able to see here in our own Burlington Junction Freeman Station.
