The Friends of Freeman Station is an incorporated non-profit 100% volunteer community group whose aim is to re-locate, restore and preserve the historic Burlington Junction Station (a.k.a. “Freeman Station”) for the enjoyment of current and future generations.
Corporate donations have played a major role in the construction of a new concrete foundation and a brand new roof. Paint has been donated, as well as HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures, lumber and other building materials, and thousands of hours of volunteer labour including the services of architects, structural engineers, master carpenters, electricians, paint scrapers, painters, sign builders, and others. Masons, plumbers, artists, landscapers, scenic designers, and docents will be needed in the future. Eventually we will be designing and building a historical railway diorama in the basement of the Station.
