Canada 150 at Freeman Station – July 1st, 2017

Freeman Station ribbon-cutting

A large and enthusiastic crowd joined the Friends of Freeman Station on Canada Day at 11 AM at 1285 Fairview Street (just East of the Central Fire Station) as the Mayor of Burlington and other visiting dignitaries (including our intrepid volunteers) cut the ceremonial opening ribbon for the Station and unveiled a memorial plaque.  Visitors were amazed to see the restoration work that has continued to bring the Burlington Junction Station (“Freeman Station”) back to its historic glory.

Doors Open Burlington 2016 @ Freeman Station a huge success!

More than 800 guests passed through the Burlington Junction Station on Saturday, October 1st 2016 (photos below) as we opened the Station to the public for the first time in 28 years.   All the Friends of Freeman Station volunteers were heartened by the turnout and by visitors’ expressions of support for the project.  Thanks to everyone for coming!
